Church Property Purchase Presentation Announced

July 30th, 2008

To the Church Body,

Those of us who have been negotiating with the city believe that it is time to inform the church body where we are in the acquisition and development of the adjoining property to the church. Because of this we will present the current information in a ten minute presentation during both Church services this Sunday, August 3rd.

We will see you on Sunday!

Purchase Proposal Accepted

July 17th, 2008

Pastor Bob has been informed by the city that they are moving ahead with our proposal for the purchase of the ponding basin and National Guard Armory adjacent to our church property. Praise God for his blessings! The Building For Life Committee and the church as a whole will now have many decisions as to how this will impact our current building plans.

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” — 1 John 5:14-15

Proposal To Purchase Adjacent Land Submitted

June 27th, 2008

A formal proposal by Tulare First Baptist Church to purchase the parcels of land adjacent to our church property put up for sale by the Tulare Redevelopment Agency has been submitted today, the final day proposals could be submitted. Please remain diligently in prayer that the Lord will bless us with this land for our current Building For Life project and beyond.

“Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”— Mark 11:23-24

Motion on Land Purchase Proposal Passes

June 23rd, 2008

As previously announced, the City of Tulare Redevelopment Agency has announced they are soliciting proposals for the purchase and development of four parcels of land owned by the City of Tulare adjacent to our church property. Church leaders familiar with these matters created a proposal for submission to the city by June 27th. On Sunday, TFBC membership had a meeting to discuss and vote on a proposal to formally submit our bid for the land in question and to use Building For Life funds for the purchase of said land. After careful discussion, the motion passed with a unanimous vote. Now formally approved by the church, our proposal will be submitted on Friday the 27th before the City of Tulare’s deadline.

Please remain in prayer regarding this matter. We know God has a plan for Tulare First Baptist Church and out Building For Life project, that He is in control of all things and His plan will be revealed to us.

“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass … Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.” (Psalm 37:4,7)

Possible Purchase of Additional Land

June 12th, 2008

The City of Tulare Redevelopment Agency has announced they are soliciting proposals for the purchase and development of four parcels of land owned by the City of Tulare. The parcels are essentially the ponding basin and National Guard Armory adjacent to our church property and are the only parcels of land available that are contiguous to our existing church property. Purchase of this land is certainly the only opportunity we will have to buy land adjacent to our current campus. Purchase of this property would open up wealth of options heretofore unavailable to the church and our current Building for Life expansion project, as well as allow for future expansion as God’s plan for our church is manifest.

After prayerful and reasoned deliberations, a team of church leaders knowledgeable about these matters crafted a proposal for submission to the city by June 27th. Before the church submits a proposal, a vote will be taken on the matter by the church. The vote will take place June 27th between first and second service. Please be in prayer leading up to the church discussion and vote and be sure to attend this critical meeting.
